The 54th annual Chevron Houston Marathon was held on January 10, 2026, throughout downtown Houston. Acadian Ambulance crew members provided standby support along the race route, and team members were stationed at the George R Brown Convention Center and the event’s emergency operations center (EOC).

This year’s event saw more than 27,000 registered marathon participants, making it the largest single-day sporting event in Houston. This is our fifth year having a role in the event.

Acadian Ambulance had 48 crew members on duty from its Houston, Southeast Texas, Central Texas, South-central Texas, New Orleans, Southwest Louisiana, and Hub City regions, in addition to mechanics from its fleet department. A total of 25 units were involved in event operations, including 20 ambulance units, four advance life support (ALS) gator vehicles, and one sprint supervisor vehicle. These units were strategically posted along the course and stationed at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Acadian’s leadership participated in numerous planning sessions and tabletop exercises ahead of the big weekend with the Houston Office of Emergency Management, Houston Fire Department, Homeland Security, and the Houston Marathon Committee.

There was increased planning this year around security in cooperation with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of everyone at the event. Acadian Director of Integrations and Event Chief Eric Stricklin said, “Our team did a phenomenal job with the planning and execution of our services on the day of the event. We received great feedback from top City and Race officials who have come to appreciate and trust Acadian Ambulance as their official EMS provider.”

During the event, Acadian crews completed a total of 20 patient transports.
