Community Involvement

Commitment to our community, along with our love of the people within it, guided us in the beginning and is our driving force today.

Commitment to Our Communities

When we helped our first patients back in 1971, our goal was to provide our community with the best and most advanced emergency health care available. Since then, Acadian has grown to care for many communities across the country. Our commitment to our communities and the people who make them special, is what drives us to be the best we can be in our industry.

We are humbled by the endless support of our families, friends, neighbors, local businesses, and fellow EMS providers. Our utmost appreciation and gratitude go to those who support and share in our vision of caring for those in need.

Acadian Explorers

Acadian Ambulance has been a supporter of Scouting for more than 30 years. In 1992, we established our first Explorer post, and today we have nearly 20 posts throughout Louisiana, Texas and Tennessee. Explorers have the opportunity to ride on our ambulances, shadow employees, build a medical resume, learn CPR and other lifesaving skills, earn volunteer hours in a patient care environment, obtain scholarships for EMT school and further medical career opportunities.

High School and College Football

Each year, one of Acadian Ambulance’s major community service initiatives is to provide stand-by service at hundreds of high school and college football games throughout our service area. Thanks to support from our annual membership program, we’re able to stand by at high school games without charge. Every available ambulance is staffed by extra personnel to assure that players and fans have access to emergency care if needed.

School Visits and Career Fairs

Community Events

Acadian Ambulance provides standby service for many major community activities such as fairs and festivals, and for other events upon request.

Because it is difficult to maneuver a regular ambulance through crowds at large events, Acadian’s fleet includes Med Cart, a fully-equipped emergency medical vehicle, staffed by paramedics, allowing advanced life support equipment to be maneuvered through crowded areas to victims of accident or illness.

To request standby service, contact us. Choose “To request an ambulance or crew at an upcoming event” as your contact reason and provide the date, time, location and description of the event. A regional representative will follow up with information and rates.

Community CPR training

CPR Training

Acadian Ambulance helps to provide bystander CPR training to residents of our communities throughout the year. If you are putting on an event in your community and would like Acadian’s participation, please contact us.

In addition, the National EMS Academy provides CPR training for certification through the American Heart Association.

Night Landing Zone Training

Acadian Air Med’s team provides night landing zone courses to regional fire departments that we often work with. The course includes presentation slides, question and answer time, hands-on training and requirements for landing at night. When possible, a helicopter lands for demo time and skills practice.

Contact Acadian Air Med to request night landing zone training.

National Night Out

National Night Out

National Night Out Against Crime is a nationwide effort that coordinates local events and promotes crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to let criminals know that neighborhoods are not afraid. Acadian Ambulance participates in many local National Night Out events across our service area.

Mock Crashes

Acadian Ambulance participates in mock crashes across our service area, often during prom and graduation season, so that we can help display to high school students the danger of impaired and distracted driving. The realistic scenarios include student actors and wrecked vehicles, as well as law enforcement, fire and EMS first responders.

To request stand-by service, contact us with date, time, location, and description of the event.

Child Seat safety

Child Seat Safety Checks

Acadian Ambulance often participates alongside state agencies in providing child seat safety checks.

Learn more about child seat safety and find information on seat checks in your area.

Safe Sleep Initiative

Acadian Ambulance is a member of the Southwest Louisiana Safe Sleep Task Force, a public safety initiative on sharing the importance of infant safe sleep education throughout the community.

The task force works to educate parents, professionals and caregivers on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Safe Sleep Guidelines and improve knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about the risk of unsafe sleep environments.

Safety Tips

We are dedicated to providing excellent community service, improving efficiency through use of innovative technologies and promoting a proactive approach to safety. Having a plan in place prior to an event or emergency situation is the best way to keep yourself and others safe.

Giving Back to Our Communities

As fully invested members of the communities in which we live and organizations we support, all of us in the Acadian family are proud to give back through volunteering time, resources and heart.

We support numerous community organizations throughout our service area, and our strong partnerships have provided us opportunities to donate, advocate and volunteer as a company and as individuals. Acadian employees have volunteered for and served on boards for decades, and we are proud to be affiliated with the work done through these organizations.
