Community members gathered Tuesday, July 28, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Acadian Ambulance’s new Rutherford County station in Smyrna.
With the station’s opening, Acadian now operates in three Tennessee counties—Davidson, Rutherford, and Shelby. Acadian established the new station to enhance its operations in the Nashville metro region.
“Our mission readiness hinges on strong logistics, top-tier training, and unwavering local relationships,” said Jay Lewis, vice president for Acadian’s Southeast Texas and Tennessee service areas. “This expanded footprint allows us to deploy our fleet, along with our experienced medical and logistical staff, to Rutherford County and surrounding regions more quickly without compromising response times or resources in other areas.”
As Acadian expands its footprint in Middle Tennessee, it is actively recruiting EMTs, advanced EMTs, and paramedics in the area.
For those not yet certified as an EMT, Acadian’s National EMS Academy is beginning its next EMT class in Memphis and Nashville on September 14, 2026.
“Our mission is to improve the lives of our patients, customers, and employees,” said Hope Holmes, operations manager for Acadian Ambulance Tennessee. “We are always looking for individuals interested in entering the EMS field to help us achieve this mission.”
Acadian has served the Memphis metro area since 2019 and the Nashville metro area since 2022.
