Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the many blessings we enjoy. Even in a tumultuous year like 2020, we should all take the time to give thanks and to think of those less fortunate. Many families will be gathering for Thanksgiving next week and I’m hopeful that we all rededicate ourselves to take the precautions necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We have seen a recent increase in COVID-19 related ambulance transports, and many of the hospitals in our service are reporting higher COVID-19 patient counts as well. Now is the time to work together to celebrate Thanksgiving safely and to help stop the spread of this disease.

Acadian Ambulance’s medics are on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19. We have seen firsthand the devastating effects of the virus on our patients and their families. Yet, despite their concerns for their personal safety – and the safety of their families – our medics continue to work tirelessly, diligently and compassionately in caring for our fellow Louisianans.

On behalf of our dedicated medics, please celebrate safely and follow the recommended guidelines for reducing the risk of exposure. Your life, and the lives of others, may depend on it.

May God bless you and keep you safe.
