Paramedic Beau Fournier and EMTs Nick Ziegler and Taylor Kocher were recognized for excellent patient care and clinical medicine in their treatment of a patient last June. The crew was honored by Lakeview Regional Medical Center and presented with challenge coins at the hospital’s quarterly meeting.

National EMS Academy Regional Coordinator Andy Bruch, Quality Improvement Coordinator Markus Jenkins and Community Relations Supervisor Dwain Meche were also in attendance for the presentation.

“In recognition of excellent prehospital trauma care and outstanding patient outcomes, our trauma team has nominated Beau Fournier, Nicholas Ziegler, and Taylor Kocher of Acadian Ambulance to receive Lakeview’s EMS Challenge Coins,” said Tulane Health System Marketing Director Kim Melvin.

“These individuals demonstrated excellence in clinical medicine during the care of a stabbing patient in June of 2019. Our EMS partners are an imperative part of patient care and we like to recognize their heroic efforts every day. Congratulations and thank you for your service and sacrifice!”
