At its September 11 city council meeting, the City of Baytown, Texas, proclaimed September 11, 2025, as Acadian Day, in honor of Acadian’s 54th anniversary on September 1.

The proclamation, which was signed by Mayor Charles Johnson, read:

WHEREAS, founded in 1971, Acadian Companies is an employee-owned, multifaceted company with six divisions, a global reach, and a mission of improving the lives of patients, customers, and employees through its innovative spirit and dedicated team of professionals; and

WHEREAS, Acadian Ambulance Service is the largest employee-owned ambulance service in the nation and has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s most respected and accomplished medical transportation companies; and

WHEREAS, Acadian Ambulance is one of the only companies in the nation to be accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems; and

WHEREAS, Acadian Ambulance has demonstrated a deep commitment to providing “best in class” pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical care to the citizens of Baytown; and

WHEREAS, Acadian Ambulance is also committed to local education and workforce development with the establishment of a Baytown campus for its National EMS Academy.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Charles Johnson-Mayor of Baytown, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2025, as Acadian Ambulance Day in recognition of the 54th anniversary of the company’s founding.

Acadian Ambulance has served the city of Baytown since 2016, providing 911 emergency response and non-emergency transports. The company has 2 Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) ambulances and 7 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances serving the City of Baytown, totaling 28 paramedics and EMTs serving the city, and its National EMS Academy has a local campus to provide EMT and paramedic training. In Baytown, Acadian invests approximately $250,000 annually on training and has produced 117 EMTs at the campus.

In July 2025, Mayor Johnson visited the National EMS Academy campus in Baytown and had the opportunity to observe an EMT class with local students. During the visit, he shared, “I am proud to have an organization of this caliber in our city.”
