Porter TaylorAcadian Ambulance Director of Operations Porter Taylor serves as the Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Ambulance Alliance, where he plays a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of LAA’s vision and strategic plan.

Taylor has been a member of the LAA board for more than a year. “It is a great opportunity to collaborate with other providers in the state, along with being able to make a decision that benefits the profession versus just one service,” he said.

The board allows members to respond collectively to in-state disasters or multi-patient events. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity to review state policies and procedures with legislators and senators.

Taylor started his career as a runner in Acadian’s maintenance shop and as a part-time EMT-Basic. He then moved to the Acadian Air Med division, where he served for seven years before transitioning to ground operations in Baton Rouge. Taylor has held various roles in Louisiana and Texas, including ground medic, PFS, CRS, Operations Manager, and Vice President of Operations.

As Director of Operations for Acadian’s Louisiana and Mississippi regions, Taylor oversees ground operations while working closely with the State of Louisiana on disaster preparedness, response, and evacuation efforts.
