Acadian Ambulance Service of Texas, LLC, has acquired Odyssey EMS in Houston. Odyssey, which was established in 2003, provides Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, critical care, pediatric and bariatric transports.

The purchase will take effect Tuesday, Dec. 20.

“This acquisition will build on the very strong foundation that Acadian has established in Houston,” Regional Vice President Michael Burney said.  “We look forward to the Odyssey employees joining our team and to expanding our service area.”

Acadian, founded in 1971, is owned by its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The company expanded to Texas in 2006 and now serves millions of Texans in 37 counties and the Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Beaumont metro areas.  Acadian is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, one of nine services in the state to hold the designation.
