The 988 hotline is now available nationwide for call, text or chat. 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that routes callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

988 was established to improve access to crisis services in a way that meets our country’s growing suicide and mental health related crisis care needs. 988 will provide easier access to the Lifeline network and related crisis resources.

If you’re thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support, the Lifeline network is available 24/7 across the United States.
