Specialized Transport Services
The Safest Transfer Possible
Critical Care Units
Acadian Ambulance’s Critical Care Transport (CCT) units provide a higher level of patient care for the most critically sick or injured patients being transported from hospital to hospital. Acadian’s CCT-designated ambulances are equipped and staffed as mobile intensive care units.
Acadian’s CCT Paramedics receive more than 100 hours of additional training in specialty areas including, but not limited to, cardiology, trauma, obstetrics and neonatology. This added capability provides the safest transfer possible for patients moving from remote emergency departments to definitive care facilities or between ICU and surgical facilities. Our physician-supervised crews interact with air medical crews, transport teams and ICU staff to provide a seamless transfer of care.
At Acadian, we are dedicated to providing only the most secure and comfortable bariatric transport to our community.
Bariatric Units
Secure and Comfortable Transportation
Acadian also specializes in the safe transport of bariatric patients. With 13 units, our medics have the ability to securely and comfortably transport larger patients, from 350 to 1,000 pounds. Our bariatric transport utilizes a specially designed gurney which is wider and can support more weight than a traditional gurney. In addition, our unique winch system and specially engineered aluminum ramps allow for smoother and safer loading and unloading of heavier patients.
Our crews are specifically trained to provide a safe and reliable transfer service. Medical transport of high-risk and critically ill newborns requires skilled personnel and specialized equipment.
Neonatal Units
Providing the Highest Standard of Care
Acadian’s neonatal unit provides expert, round-the-clock care for newborn babies who are ill or born prematurely. We promote a true partnership approach with those we work with, offering full flexibility to meet the needs of any required service for your child.
Depending on your baby’s needs, there are different levels of care available on neonatal units.
