Air Med

What areas does Air Med cover?
Air Med is strategically stationed in the following Louisiana cities: Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria, Houma, Lake Charles, and New Orleans. Whether inland, offshore, or in-hospital, our first-response range stretches 150 miles.

How can I request Air Med for an event or stand-by?
Air Med can be contacted for event and stand-by requests by contacting Operations Manager Marc Creswell.

How many patients can a helicopter transport?
Each helicopter can transport two patients at a time.

What training does SMS offer?
Safety Management Systems provides you with a comprehensive list of safety and regulatory compliance training required by BSEE, OPITO, U.S. Coast Guard, OSHA, IADC, API, STCW part 95, and DOT. View a complete list of our courses.

Training courses are catered to fit your company's training needs, we offer full course customization, multiple day programs, and new hire orientations.

What services do you offer?

Is there a certain area your flights cover?
Our flights cover the continental U.S., Bahamas, Caribbean, Central and South America, Canada and Alaska.

How can my company schedule a flight?

You can schedule a flight with Executive Air by contacting Fixed Wing Coordinator Joey Moreau or filling out a flight request.

How many passengers do your jets accommodate?
Our Lear Jet 45 and KingAir B200 can both seat eight passengers.

How much does a flight cost?
Each flight cost varies on the passenger size and destination. For flight quotes, please submit a request and a quote will be issued to you within 12 hours.

National EMS Academy
How do I apply for classes?

For prospective students interested in Louisiana, sign up and attend a mandatory information session for detailed instructions to apply and enroll. Submit an online application at South Louisiana Community College. Submit all eligibility and entry requirements to South Louisiana Community College to receive acceptance. Once accepted into the college, enroll for class in the LoLA program. Pay fees in accordance with tuition due date.

Do you have to be a basic before you can become a paramedic?
Yes. State certification standards require that you become certified at least at the EMT level before participating in a paramedic certification course.

How much do EMTs and paramedics get paid?
Pay varies according to employer and geographic location. Average pay for entry-level EMT personnel is up to $30,000 per year, and paramedics is up to $40,000 per year.

How often are classes offered?
EMT classes start every spring and fall semester. Paramedic programs begin approximately every 15 months. As one program completes, preparations to start the next class begins. Please contact us for more specific class dates.
